What it is

Interlude helps Royal Road authors trade shoutouts. To do that, our server occasionally reads public Royal Road pages — the same pages any reader can open in a browser. We never access anything behind a login, and we never collect reader data.

What it fetches

• Fiction pages — when an author adds their story, we read its public title, cover, blurb, tags, and stats.
• Profile pages — only to confirm story ownership, when an author places a claim code in their own bio.
• Chapter pages— only chapters that swap participants tell us about, to confirm an agreed shoutout was posted in the author's note.

How often

Gently. At most one request every two seconds across the whole service, with results cached for 24 hours. We honor robots.txtand back off immediately if Royal Road's servers ask us to slow down.
